The best part- pumpkin carving. I tried to get Max to take out the innards this year, but, alas, he's like his father. Ewww! It's slimy! I thought 4 year old's should like that stuff. What does it say about me that I do?
Kerri - I think it says you are a really cool mom!
My kids are the same way. I finally got them to do it this year because, with three pumpkins (they each got to design their own), I was never going to get to them all. It was, "If you want a jack-o-lantern, you're gonna have to do some of the work yourselves."
I didn't know if it would work, but it did! Of course, they are all older than Max, so I can be a lot more firm about it!
Sadly, I was out of my costume by the time my daughter came home from trick or treating with her buddies. She came home when she said she would, and here's something funny: her group of five girls had been joined by a group of four boys. Hmmm.
At least they were nice, and said thank you after I dropped candy into their pillowcases and teased them about being a little too old for this.
"I'm young at heart," one said in his crackly voice.
